We are very familiar with windows of tolerance in our family, and their further narrowing in times of stress. It's understandable that we or family members may be reacting more strongly, and on the face of it sometimes inexplicably. With this understanding, you can make it a mindfulness practice to meet over-reaction with kindness - notice how meeting it with (self) criticism or anger tends to multiply the suffering...
And when you react to 'over-reaction' in some other way than with kindness, try reminding yourself (with kindness!) that this is something you are practising, you can begin again and again. 💜 https://www.facebook.com/lindsaybraman/photos/a.109003177251212/159182738899922/?type=3&theater

We've been running mindfulness courses in the local area over the last couple of years and have recently moved the courses online so that participants can still benefit from the tools and approaches during the coronavirus outbreak.
Mindfulness has helped us both personally work with worry and uncertainty and we believe the course can help others at this time. More information about our next 4-week ‘Introduction to Mindfulness’ group course in the Eventbrite link in comments. You can also email us at [email protected] We are committed to making our courses as accessible as possible so please let us know in confidence if you are experiencing financial insecurity at this time. It meant a lot to receive this message following a recent guided meditation session. I feel very lucky to be able to offer these sessions and to be sharing practice together. The fact that we can hold a valuable space for each other over video call has been a revelation.
